HISTORY BARRY BUDDON CAMP
On the Barry Buddon training area is a memorial garden to 13 members of 45 Commando who died during the Falklands War. As it was the 25th anniversary of the conflict, a Drumhead service of Remembrance was held, attended by 90 cadets and adult staff. Among them was Falklands Veteran Sergeant Mick Hammond, now Detachment Commander at Felixstowe, who, with Cadet Corporal Thomas Lillycrap of Kesgrave Detachment, laid wreaths at the stone memorial, which had been brought from the Seven Sisters Mountain in the Falkland Islands.
